Vernon Young Jr.

I've spent the past 20 years serving as a U.S. Air Force public affairs specialist. During my time, I've covered over 1,500 assignments, captured more than 200,000 photos and 50+ video projects. I've been assigned to the prestigious Airman Magazine where I was a part of several award-winning projects. During that time, I was awarded Department of Defense Communicator of the Year. I'm also very proud of my service in Combat Camera where I also earned Department of Defense photographer of the year. I have been trained to capture uncontrolled action through photography and videography projects as well as crafting stories through print journalism. My experiences also include radio broadcast and social media management for robust public affairs operations. I'm a 2009 graduate of the Syracuse University photojournalism program. I'm available for employment/assignment in the Washington, D.C. area in January 2025.
